We were looking for a campsite, as we felt that we have traveled far enough for the day.
We saw a potential site from the top of a dune, and went to investigate.
The descent was quite steep, but we didn't think too much of it.
Which is exactly when reality struck.
We were stuck between the beach and a dune.
Because we were so heavily loaded, and the dune was so steep, we couldn't get back up to the track.
The Landy had a winch, but that means nothing if there is nothing to tie it to..
The sand tracks that Johan brought didn't work at all.
Off came the spare wheel.
We buried that in the sand as far as the winch cable would go.
But that really makes it sound so easy. You basically have to dig a mine shaft in the sand to get the wheel buried, as the sand keeps falling back into the hole. And then, you have to keep re-burying the wheel, as it pulls out after a while.
First plan of action was to replace all those calories we lost.
A warm engine makes for the perfect meat defrosting mechanism
The coast doesn't change much, and more of the same awaited us.
The end and beginning to many more adventures.
